Welcome to Solara RV Rentals!

We're so excited you're thinking about staying with us! Whether you're planning a quiet getaway, a family camping trip, or want to slow down by the lake, we hope you'll feel right at home. Here are a few questions guests often ask.

Your Stay

What is included with our stay?

When you book with Solara, you're reserving much more than an RV. Everything is prepared before you arrive, so you can spend your time relaxing instead of packing, setting up, and cleaning.

Your stay includes:

✔ Fully equipped motorhome with kitchen, bathroom, heating, air conditioning and everyday essentials
✔ Fresh bedding, pillows and towels
✔ Furnished two-room tent for additional sleeping space
✔ Gazebo with outdoor dining area
✔ Outdoor kitchen with cooking equipment
✔ Fire pit and camp chairs
✔ Solar string lights throughout the campsite
✔ Parking for up to four vehicles
✔ Beautiful waterfront setting with shallow swimming when conditions allow
✔ We set everything up before you arrive and pack everything away after you leave

You bring your food, clothes and personal items. We will take care of the rest.

What is the motorhome like?

If you've never stayed in a motorhome before, think of it as a compact cabin on wheels. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay, thoughtfully designed into a smaller space.

Inside you'll find comfortable sleeping areas for up to five guests, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a flushable toilet and sink, heating and air conditioning, and plenty of storage for your belongings. During your stay, the dinette is set up as a bed, so we encourage guests to enjoy meals outdoors under the gazebo while taking in the lake and forest views.

Like any RV, the living space is more compact than a house or hotel room. The hallways are narrower, storage is more efficient, and every area serves a purpose. Most guests are pleasantly surprised by how cozy and functional it feels.

The campsite itself is designed to become your main living space. Whether you're cooking outside, relaxing with a coffee, reading a book, or gathering around the fire in the evening, you'll likely spend most of your time outdoors and use the motorhome as your comfortable place to sleep, recharge, and unwind.

Can we have a campfire?

When campfires are permitted, firewood is available for purchase directly from the property host (cash only). Every bundle purchased goes directly to the host as a thank-you for the time and hard work they invest in maintaining the property. As a bonus, you'll receive a generously sized bundle that offers far better value than the bundles typically sold at gas stations or grocery stores. It's a simple way to enjoy a great campfire while supporting the people who make your stay possible.

Your stay includes a complimentary starter supply of propane for the BBQ and portable camping stove. Additional propane, if needed, is available for purchase.

Is Solara family and pet-friendly?

Absolutely! Solara was created to be a place where families, friends, and four-legged companions can slow down and enjoy time together.

Children will love exploring the shoreline, playing in the open outdoor spaces, roasting marshmallows around the campfire, and spending evenings under the stars. Parents can relax knowing the campsite is already set up and ready to enjoy.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome too! We ask that pets remain under control, that owners clean up after them, and that they are respectful of neighbouring guests and local wildlife.

Whether you're planning a family getaway, a couples retreat, or a weekend with friends, we hope Solara becomes a place you'll want to return to year after year.

How many people can comfortably stay?

Our setup comfortably accommodates up to 9 guests, making it a great choice for families, couples, or small groups of friends.

The motorhome offers several sleeping areas, while the campsite also includes a cozy two-room tent for guests who want to enjoy sleeping closer to nature.

The sleeping arrangements include:

  • Overhead bunk – sleeps up to 2
  • Convertible sofa bed – sleeps up to 2
  • Dinette bed – sleeps 1–2 children or 1 adult
  • Two-room tent – fits up to 4 people and includes two raised camping beds with comfortable mattresses, with space for additional sleeping pads if needed.

Many families choose to have the adults sleep inside the motorhome while the kids enjoy their own adventure in the tent. Others use the tent to spread out and give everyone a little more personal space.

Whether you prefer the comfort of the motorhome or the fresh air of the tent, you'll have the flexibility to create the camping experience that suits your group best.

What should we bring?

We have tried to provide as many essentials as possible, so you can pack light and spend more time enjoying your getaway.

We recommend bringing:

  • Clothing suitable for the weather
  • Comfortable shoes or hiking boots
  • Food and drinks
  • Personal toiletries and medications
  • Sunscreen and insect repellent
  • Any favourite books, games, fishing gear, kayaks, or other outdoor equipment you'd like to enjoy

We provide fresh bedding, bath towels, cookware, dishes, outdoor seating, and many everyday essentials to help make your stay comfortable. We've even set up a convenient place to hang wet towels and swimsuits after a day at the lake.

If you're planning to enjoy a campfire (when permitted), generously sized firewood bundles are available for purchase directly from the property host.

Our goal is simple: arrive, unpack your clothes, stock the fridge, and start making memories.

Can we celebrate birthdays or special occasions?

Absolutely! Solara is a wonderful place for small, intimate celebrations such as birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, or quality time with your closest family and friends.

You're welcome to add a few personal decorations, bring your favourite food, and make the space your own during your stay. Surrounded by the lake, forest, cozy outdoor living area, and evening campfires (when permitted), it's a beautiful setting for creating meaningful memories.

If you're planning a special occasion, let us know when you book. While we're still developing our celebration packages, we'll do our best to help make your stay feel a little extra special whenever we can.

What groceries should we bring?

We recommend planning your meals before you arrive and bringing all of the groceries you'll need for your stay, as there are no stores or restaurants in the immediate area. Our campsite includes several ways to prepare meals, including:

  • A propane BBQ
  • The motorhome's gas stove
  • An outdoor cooking station for pots and pans

Simple meals tend to work best while camping. Many guests enjoy bringing items such as:

  • Breakfast foods (eggs, bacon, pancakes, cereal, fruit)
  • Sandwich ingredients for lunch
  • Burgers, hot dogs, steaks, chicken, or vegetables for the BBQ
  • Pasta, chili, tacos, or stir-fries for easy dinners
  • Marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers for s'mores (when campfires are permitted)
  • Coffee, tea, snacks, and plenty of drinks

We provide cookware, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, cooking utensils, and propane for cooking, so all you need to do is bring your favourite ingredients.

During Your Stay

How do the bathroom facilities work?

The motorhome includes a private bathroom with a flushable toilet, sink, mirror, and storage for your personal toiletries. For added convenience, a traditional outhouse is also located just a short walk from the campsite, giving guests another washroom option during their stay.

Because Solara is an off-grid experience, the motorhome carries a limited supply of fresh water. We've designed the campsite to make the most of it by providing an outdoor handwashing and dishwashing station, allowing the RV's water supply to be used primarily for the bathroom and light kitchen use.

At this time, showers are not available at the campsite.

If it's your first time staying in an RV, don't worry; we will provide simple instructions in the guest guide so you'll know exactly how everything works.

How does the water system work?

Solara is an off-grid camping experience, which means the motorhome carries its own fresh-water supply rather than being connected to a permanent water system.

To help make the most of this limited resource, we have thoughtfully designed the campsite so guests can enjoy all the comforts of camping without worrying about running out of water. During your stay, you will have access to:

  • A private RV bathroom with a flushable toilet and sink
  • Fresh drinking water
  • An outdoor dishwashing station with beautiful lake views

By moving handwashing and dishwashing outdoors, we help conserve the motorhome's water supply for the bathroom and light kitchen use, making it more than sufficient for a comfortable stay. We ask guests to use water thoughtfully, just as they would while camping anywhere off-grid.

Is there electricity?

Yes! The motorhome has electricity to power the essentials you'll need for a comfortable stay. You will have access to lighting, USB charging ports, standard electrical outlets (where available), the refrigerator, heating and air conditioning (when appropriate), and other onboard amenities.

Because Solara is an off-grid experience, we ask guests to use electricity thoughtfully. High-power appliances brought from home, such as portable heaters, hot plates, air fryers, coffee makers, or electric grills, are not permitted, as they can overload the system.

We have already equipped the campsite with everything you need to prepare meals and enjoy your stay, so there's no need to bring additional cooking appliances.

What happens if it rains?

A little rain doesn't have to spoil your getaway!

We've designed the campsite so you can continue enjoying the outdoors even if the weather changes. The site includes a spacious 12' × 12' screened gazebo, providing a comfortable place to relax, enjoy meals, play games, or listen to the rain without worrying about mosquitoes.

For additional shelter, we also install an overhead tarp above part of the campsite. This allows guests to continue spending time outside, and, when campfires are permitted, enjoy the warmth of the fire nearby while staying dry under cover.

Of course, the motorhome is always there as a warm, comfortable retreat whenever you'd like to head indoors.

Who do we contact if we need help?

We're committed to making your stay as relaxing and stress-free as possible. Inside the motorhome, you'll find your Solara Guest Guide — a handbook we've carefully created to answer common questions and explain how everything works, from the motorhome's features to the outdoor amenities and off-grid systems. Our goal is to help you feel confident and comfortable, even if it's your first time staying in an RV.

If you still need assistance, we're just a phone call or message away whenever reception is available.

If your booking includes any optional extras such as firewood, additional parking, or other add-ons — those can be included during the booking process or paid separately, depending on the service. If you have any questions about payment or need assistance, we're always happy to help.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in: From 3:00 PM

Check-out: By 11:00 AM

These times allow us to thoroughly clean the motorhome, refresh the campsite, replenish supplies, and prepare everything for our next guests. If you expect to arrive later than planned, just let us know. We will do our best to make your arrival as smooth as possible.

If you'd like an early check-in or a late check-out, please contact us before your stay. While we can't guarantee availability, we're happy to accommodate these requests whenever our schedule allows.

Why is there a cleaning fee?

Our cleaning fee helps us prepare the motorhome and campsite for every guest by washing linens, sanitizing the space, restocking supplies, and making sure everything is ready for your arrival. As part of the service, we'll also remove up to four large garbage bags, along with your recycling, cans, and bottles. Since this is a pack-in, pack-out area, most visitors are expected to take their garbage home. We take care of it for you, so you can simply pack up and head home.

What is your cancellation policy?

To secure your reservation, a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 3 days before your arrival.

If you need to cancel before your final payment is due, we will retain your deposit while we do our best to rebook your dates. If we're successful in finding another guest for the same dates, we will gladly refund your deposit. If your booking is cancelled less than 3 days before check-in, or you don't arrive for your reservation, the booking becomes non-refundable.

We understand that unexpected situations happen, and we'll always do our best to work with you whenever possible.
