Meet the Family Behind Solara
Camping has never really been about the motorhome. It's waking up to birds instead of alarms, drinking your morning coffee while your kids play hide-and-seek nearby. It is about sitting around a campfire long after the sun goes down because nobody is in a hurry to be anywhere. The problem is that getting to those moments isn't always easy.
Owning an RV is expensive. Setting up camp takes time, while packing feels endless. If you have never stayed in a motorhome before, it can feel intimidating before your trip has even begun. That's what inspired Solara. Instead of simply renting out a motorhome, we've been asking ourselves a different question: "How can we make camping feel easier without taking away what makes it special?"That question has shaped everything you'll find here, from the outdoor kitchen and screened gazebo to the guest guide we have written, the way we have organized the campsite, and even the little details most people wouldn't think about until they need them.
We're a family-run business in Mission, British Columbia, and we're building Solara one stay at a time. Every guest teaches us something new, while every season brings another improvement. Our goal isn't to have the biggest fleet. It's to create the kind of place we'd be excited to book ourselves.
Meet the Founders
Hi, we're Olga and David.
People often ask us how Solara started, and honestly... it wasn't because we woke up one day wanting to rent out a motorhome. It started because I have this annoying habit of looking at something and immediately wondering how it could be better.
Every time we would go camping, I would notice something. There wasn't a good place to wash dishes. Setting up took forever. You would forget one thing at home and suddenly your whole weekend revolved around it, and someone always had to haul garbage home. Little things, really... but they add up.
After a while I stopped seeing them as inconveniences and started seeing them as opportunities. I kept asking myself, "What if we just fixed this? ...and this? ...and this too?" That's pretty much how Solara has been built. Almost everything you will see here exists because at one point I thought, "There has to be a better way."
We are definitely not finished. In fact, I hope we're never finished. Every guest will teach us something new, every season will bring another idea, and we will keep making little improvements that hopefully make your stay just a bit easier than the last.

Still a Work in Progress
One thing you will quickly learn about us is that we don't leave things alone for very long. Every camping trip gives us another idea, while every guest teaches us something.
We will continue making changes. Sometimes they're small, like a new shelf, a better kitchen tool, a more comfortable chair. Sometimes they are bigger, like redesigning an entire part of the campsite because we think it can be better.
If you visit us this year and come back next year, don't be surprised if you notice something new because that's just who we are.
